Argimusco’s Megaliths

On the “Argimusco” plateau some tracks of big megaliths similar to the famous Dolmen and Menhir used by Celts to celebrate religious ceremonies have been found. These impressive and charming sandstones (some elements are more than 25 m high), were probably used to calculate astronomical calendars, to determine solstice and equinox with reference to menhir.
Have been defined the giant stones, interpreted as the work of Neolithic men of Sicily in ancient times and that some have called the site "Italian Stonehenge" comparable to the large structures of northern Europe.
