The city’s origin is Greek and (late) Roman and it is located 250 m above the sea level, on the top of the Cape of Milazzo.

Do not miss:

• Madonna Bruna sanctuary with its black Byzantine Virgin Mary
• Ancient walls, with some impressive parts, that surrounded the city.
• Roman area: a whole neighbourhood with thermal baths, taverns, residences.
• Ruins of Basilica built with large squared rocks of sandstone.
• Greek theatre: dates back to the end of IV century B.C.
• Marinello lakes created by the sea inside a sandy bay.
