The most famous volcano in Italy and the most active in Europe, a fascinating theatre of lava eruptions covering an area of approximately 1600 cubic metres. It is an ideal place for excursions given the colours and the scent of a charming landscape, unique in the world.
Do not miss:
- Etna Park territory: rich in flora and fauna, caves, eruptive craters and cones. To be discovered on foot, by bicycle or by a jeep.
- The Alcantara gorge: the most famous lava canyon in Europe, it is situated on the slopes of Etna.
- Churches, small fortresses, historical centres built out of sculptured lava stone.
- Skiing centres are between 2000 and 3000m above the sea level and can easily be reached.
